Tower Crane Class Descriptions

*All Classes will be Hands-on in the morning and Classroom in the afternoon. 
Three-Day Tower Crane Curriculum - $1750.00

Candidate description: Incidental crane operator with limited crane operation experience and knowledge of the regulations and how to catch a load.

Class Overview: Preparation Class for NCCCO written exam. Instruction and review of crane industry regulations specific to tower crane safety and operation. Includes instruction on load catching.

Minimum of 3 people 


Day one curriculum:

  • ANSI, and OSHA regulations
  • signals and specialized operations
  • Wire rope and machine inspections
  • Rigging uses and applications
  • Sample test at end of day


Day two curriculum:

Hands on:

  • Practice rigging and signals
  • Catching a load
  • Run the NCCCO course

Day three curriculum:

  • Classroom: Review classroom material and complete sample test again
  • Hands on: Continued training from day one


NCCCO Written Exams: The Saturday following the class

Five-day Tower Crane Curriculum - $3500.00

Candidate description: No crane operating experience and has no knowledge of the regulations and how load charts work.

Class Overview: Preparation Class for NCCCO written exam and practical exams. Comprehensive instruction and study of crane industry regulations including hands on crane operations. Curriculum is specific to tower crane safety and operation.  Includes load chart study and exercises.

 

Day one curriculum:

  • Classroom: Crane nomenclature, descriptions, components, and types
  • Hands on: Review cranes verify components and types. Includes hands on operation

Day two curriculum:

  • Classroom: Cover general industry definitions, ANSI, and OSHA regulations
  • Hands on: Operation and practice on crane


Day three curriculum:

  • Classroom: Wire rope inspection, reeving, hand and voice signals.
  • Hands on: Demonstrate and practice hand and voice signals. Crane operation and  practicing, giving and receiving signals.


Day four curriculum:

  • Classroom: Rigging and wire Rope
  • Hands on: Practice NCCCO course


Day five curriculum:

  • Classroom: Recap of regulations, sample test.
  • Hands on: Practice the NCCCO course

NCCCO Written Exams: The Saturday following the class
